The South Illustrated

We're excited to announce the latest product from Sideshow Press. “The South Illustrated” 2013 calendar was designed exclusively for Garden & Gun. Each calendar page is hand pressed on our pony-sized 1926 letterpress. We illustrated each month with a drawing of a southern staple and paired it with a quote by a southern author. The monthly cards are displayed on a wood veneer mounting plaque with a leather strap for hanging. Each calendar set comes packaged in a burlap bag sewn with a letterpress tag. Needless to say, this was such a fun and rewarding project to have the chance to design something for one of our favorite publications. The calendars, as well as many other bespoke items, are available for purchase through the Garden and Gun Store.

Nautical Baby

We've been excited to share this adorable nautical birth announcement we designed for little Ryder. Ryder's parents came to us with a great idea to use custom made bags out of sail cloth from their families boat. Ryder's initials are embroidered on the bag and a white cloth rope closes the bag. We designed the birth announcement to incorporate their great bag along with a photo and his stats (written in nautical terminology). Congratulations and welcome to the world!

The Boston Public Library

Maggie and Christopher came to us with great inspiration, a beautiful venue, a love of books. The couple wanted the invitation to set the tone for an elegant evening full of beautiful florals, architecture and books. The gold leaf and molding details of the Boston Public Library are reflective through out the design of their book bound invitation. The liners are each unique - cut from a (falling apart) vintage floral book and the library sleeves in the back of the invitation house the response card and cocktail party invite neatly.

Old City Jail Wedding

That's right. This custom wedding suite was designed for a wedding held in the Old City Jail in Charleston, South Carolina. The jail is a beautiful historic stone building and served as the perfect understated backdrop for this cool couple's big day. We had the pleasure of designing and printing all of the pieces from the Saved the Date and Wedding invitations to the Weekend Materials. Through out all the pieces we were inspired by the unique setting of the wedding events. Visuals and textures such as the natural color palette of the building, skeleton keys and handwritten letters all came together to make this set rich, romantic and mysterious.
